Mid scene review

Our scene gives me a very good feeling. In all honesty I think we are doing great. We are giving each other great feedback that is very helpful. We also listen to each other very well. I feel like everyone's voices and ideas are both heard and tried. Secondly, we have a good idea of who are characters are. I found the whole background story to be both helpful and enjoyable. Knowing who are characters are will make our interactions seem more natural. For example, knowing the relation between the mother and her daughters makes the scene easier to perform. Having Sarah and Lisa be so similar and having Beth be so different made it easy to create that kind of connection. I feel this connection can be seen throughout the whole scene. Thirdly, our characters are different from the characters we have played in the past, which will really help us improve our overall acting skills. We also are enjoying putting this scene together. This project is letting us use what we have learned and put it to a good use. Overall, as actors we are using what we know to create a successful scene. For example, we use monologuing to help us improve our voice. In this scene I feel that our voices fit our characters very well. We also used what we learned during the silent movie to make our movements and interactions more natural. All in all, I think we are doing very good. I think that we will be most successful if we do what we know and keep our connection going.
There are a couple of things that we could improve on. First off, we need to work on memorizing our lines. Without our full mastery of our lines it makes it hard to see what the scene is actually going to be like. If we continue to memorize, this will fix our problem. Secondly, we should I probably stay on topic more. I know that I am very guilty of not staying on topic. Hopefully for the last couple of days I can control my chattiness. We know that most likely it will not be super successful, but I will try my best. Finally, we need to have a clear vision. Sometimes it seems like we are not always on the same page. For example, when we discussing a simple head nod it was pretty challenging for us to decide exactly where and when in the script we wanted to do it. Overall, in our scene the good outweighs the improvements. To conclude, I believe that our scene will become extremely successful because of how well we work together and how important this scene is to us.

All Good Things Must Come to an End

This semester has been fantastic! I have really grown to appreciate the theater community after this class. In all honesty, I was not huge fan at the beginning, but this class helped me open my mind to new ideas and experience. The first major progress is I got a lot better at memorization. From our first monologues to our final scene, I finally figured out what would make me a successful memorizer.  I also believe that I got a better attitude throughout the course. In the beginning I had a bad attitude but as we continued throughout the year, you as a teacher go to see who I truly am.  I think our class also became a lot closer throughout all of the different activities. Overall, I progressed in many different ways. I way stretched in many different ways. First off, my first monologue went totally outside of my comfort zone. I had to be more serious then I have ever been in my entire acting career. After this experience I still prefer having fun in scenes, but it was a good ...
